Interior Painting in Tallahassee, FL

We have been painting the insides of Tallahassee homes since 1998. Walls, ceilings, trim, doors. Two or three painters show up, put down canvas, move the heavy stuff on sliders, and get to work. When they leave, your furniture is back where it was.

We paint year-round. June through August is the wet season here, so a lot of our inside work happens in summer while the exterior crews wait on dry wood. When you call, we tell you when we can start.

Most interior jobs start with patching. Houses settle and drywall cracks along the seams. We fill, sand, and prime before a wall gets color. Barbara Dombrowski put it this way on Google: "Faith and Day repaired all the cracks that resulted from settling and then painted all the walls."

Drywall repair and wall smoothing

Bigger holes, water-stained ceilings, rough patches from an old repair. We fix them so they disappear under the new coat.

Wallpaper removal

The paper comes down and the glue comes off. Then the wall gets skimmed and primed. Slow work. We tell you up front how it changes the schedule.

Popcorn ceilings

If you want the texture gone, ask when Marshall or Gerard walks the job. It is messier than a repaint and gets its own line on the quote.

Faux and specialty finishes

How we protect your house

This is the part people worry about, so here is what happens.

Clean canvas drop cloths on the floors. Lightweight plastic over beds and furniture. We do all the heavy moving. We have special sliders that go under the big pieces, so a dresser or a sofa moves without scraping the floor. Small things and pictures, we ask you to take down first. You do not need to be home. A lot of our customers work during the day. We can arrange a way to get into your home while you are out.

Picking colors

We are putter oners, not picker outers. That is Gerard's line. Our painters will tell you how a color reads on a big wall. Jennifer Kjellerup wrote on Google, "Colleen even helped me with colors." If you want real design help, ask at the estimate.

If you change your mind on a color, tell us before day one. It happens all the time. Swapping a gallon is easier than repainting a room.

How an interior job goes

1. You call or send the form. A person answers, and a person calls you back.
2. Marshall or Gerard walks the job with you. Marshall has been estimating for 12 years. Gerard started the company. One of them looks at every wall you want done and asks about the stuff you are not sure about.
3. You get a written quote. Labor and materials broken out. We are usually booked out, so we will tell you when we can start.
4. The crew arrives, preps, and paints. Canvas down, plastic on the furniture, patching first, then paint.
5. We walk it with you. If something is not right, we fix it before we call it done. We stand behind our work.

Interior painting questions

How long does an interior paint job take?

It depends on how many rooms, how much patching, and how much trim. Jennifer Kjellerup wrote on Google that her job, kitchen cabinet doors included, "took about 6 days." Marshall or Gerard will give you a real number at the estimate. And if it rains for three days and the exterior crews slide, your interior job does not.

Do I need to be home while you paint?

No. We can arrange a way to get into your home, and plenty of our customers go to work while we paint. If you would rather be home, that is fine too. We do ask you to be there for the walkthrough.

Who buys the paint?

We do. We use quality paint from the major brands, and because we buy a lot of it, we get a pretty nice discount and pass it on to our customers. If you already have a color, bring the name.
